- The Galley Club - "The social organisation for all involved in publishing and book production"
- HWAuk - the UK chapter of the Horror Writers Association, a worldwide organisation of writers and publishing professionals. Formed in the late 1980s with the help of Dean Koontz, Robert Macammon and Joe Lansdale, the HWA continues to promote dark literature and its creators
- Independent Publishers Guild - "supports around 480 members who have a combined turnover of £500m a year and who make enormous contributions to creative excellence and innovation in the UK"
- The Publishers Association - "The PA's mission is to strengthen the trading environment for UK publishers, by providing a strong voice for the industry in Government, within society and with other stakeholders in the UK, in Europe and internationally; providing a forum for the exchange of non-competitive information between publishers; and providing support and guidance to the industry through technological and other changes"
- Publishing Scotland - a new organisation with responsibility for support and development of the publishing sector in Scotland. The remit will be to work with companies, organisations and individuals in the industry, and to co-ordinate joint initiatives and partnerships. Publishing Scotland will provide a forum for discussions, events and for linking services and skills to needs and opportunities
- The Scottish Publishers Association - a trade association of almost 80 Scottish publishers. Founded in 1973, we assist our members with the marketing of their books to the widest possible readership within the UK and overseas
- The Society of Authors - "has been serving the interests of professional writers for more than a century. Today it has more than 8,500 members writing in all areas of the profession"
- Society of Young Publishers - "Established in 1949, the Society of Young Publishers is open to anyone in publishing or a related trade (in any capacity) - or who is hoping to be soon"
- The Welsh Books Council - a national body, funded by the Welsh Assembly Government, which provides a focus for the publishing industry in Wales. It provides a number of specialist services (in the fields of editing, design, marketing and distribution) with a view to improving standards of book production and publication in both Welsh and English
